L’Institut des Matériaux Poreux de Paris (IMAP) est une unité mixte CNRS (UMR 8004) créée fin 2016 entre l’ENS et l’ESPCI au sein de PSL  et dirigée par le Dr Christian Serre. Les activités du groupe, constitué actuellement de 10 membres permanents (1 DR CNRS, 1 PR UVSQ (40 % à l’IMAP), 2 CR CNRS, 1 MCF ENS, 1 MCF ESPCI, 1 IR CNRS, 1 AI ENS et de deux gestionnaires (Tech) ENS et CNRS), de 3 post-doctorants, d’une douzaine de doctorants et 5-10 étudiants en stage de master, sont focalisées sur les trois grands axes de recherche suivants:
– la synthèse et la caractérisation (structurale, physicochimique) de nouveaux solides hybrides poreux cristallisés robustes et fonctionnels (Metal-Organic Frameworks ou MOFs) et/ou de leurs composites intégrant différents nano-objets (inorganiques, hybrides, organiques)
– leur mise à l’échelle et mise en forme en conditions vertes
– leurs applications potentielles dans le domaine de l’énergie (réallocation de chaleur, batteries, piles à combustibles…), l’environnement (capture et valorisation du CO2, capture et détection des composés organovolatils…) et la santé (libération retard de médicaments, imagerie, nanobiodétection…) en collaboration avec des partenaires académiques et industriels (groupes PSA, l’Oréal, Strem chemicals, Total, Michelin…)
