Short bio
Gabriele Pitingolo received his Ph.D. in Materials and Structures Engineering at “University Federico II » of Naples, working as fellow at the Center for Advanced Biomaterials for Healthcare (Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia). Previously, he joined the Biomaterials and Encapsulation Laboratories (University of Ferrara). He recently concluded a two-years post doc in the TRAM group at Paris Descartes University. He is currently working as post-doctoral researcher at Ecole Normale Superieure in the Nanobioscences and Microsystems group headed by Yong Chen. His research topics include the development of micro- and nanoscale biomaterials to control cellular behavior with particular emphasis on developing engineered materials and microfluidic systems (tissue on chip) for drug screening. He regularly acts as a guest editor and reviewer in various peer-reviewed international scientific journals.
