Contribution of electrochemistry to organometallic catalysis

AnnyJutand graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure and University Pierre et MarieCurie. She received her Ph.D. in 1980 under the supervision of Pr. J-F.Fauvarque, working on palladium and nickel catalyzed aromatic nucleophilicsubstitution and the arylation of zinc enolates. After a postdoctoralposition at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with Prof. B.Akermak, where she started practicing electrochemistry, she got recruitedby CNRS in 1981 and joined C. Amatore’s group at ENS in1985. Her work mostly dealt with the use of electrochemistry to elucidatethe mechanisms of multiple metal-catalyzed reactions, such as theHeck coupling.

EmeritusResearch Director since 2013, Anny published more than 180 publications ininternational journals and received numerous prices such as the Grand PrixAchille-Le-Bel from the French Chemical Society and the Prix de l’Etat from theFrench Academy of Sciences.
